Flip Flop

This week I focused on a shot called a flop shot.  This shot is created when there is an obstacle or a bunker in front of you and you need to land the ball on the green at a dead stop.  You want to hit the ball so that it goes high in the air and comes down onto the green with a little bit of a back spin so when it hits it stops.  This can be very tricky to get right, if you mess it up you can have your ball end up in the obstical you were trying to avoid in the first place. My coach’s advice to me on nailing this shot was to keep my arms straight, eyes on the ball, and swipe the club face under the ball.  You have to make sure your clubface is open and ready to crush the ball.
